Pink & Chocolate Brown

My friend Caron is about to be a first time Momma! Miss Molly Cate is due in May. She wanted 3 paintings that matched her nursery ribbon (polka dot, paisley print, diamonds) and I volunteered to paint them. Now, I'm no pro, and I didn't pick the colors, I just went to work on what she wanted. It was tons of fun! Reminds me of when I took art class in high school. Here's a few pics of her soft pink and chocolate brown nursery. It's almost done! No picture of the cute PB chandelier...

Weekend Recaps

This weekend was very busy! I went to Avonlea's baby dedication at church and attended Arianna's 3rd princess birthday party. She's dressed as Snow White! Check out the princess doll cake and castle. Yep, it's all edible made by Beba-her Grandma! Little Rice and Beans are growing up so quickly! Here's a few pictures of the events...

Menu making-it's been awhile!

Well, I was able to make it to Trader Joe's this weekend and I stocked up on my Gluten-free meals and snacks. Mary is tired of me eating rice and grapes for lunch. :o) If you don't go there, I highly suggest it.

In no particular order for dinner this week:
Spaghetti and Vodka sauce with side salad and bread
Chicken Chile Verde with salsa and chips
Flounder stuffed crab (one of the best in our opinion) with steamed veggies and baked potatoes
Mandarin Orange Chicken (baked, not fried) with vegan fried vegetable rice
Some might be left overs for lunch or the next night and I'm sure we'll be on the road at some point this week and eat out.

Life is hectic right now, but oh so good!

Thursday thoughts

Wow, this afternoon was a doozy! I was feeling high and my adrenaline was pumpin'! Not fist pumpin' but I was H-O-T!

1. Do not mess with my car. Eli Aurelius Kimosabe Bean (yep, his name stems from my college girls) has been paid for years. I do not need a rock the size of a peach thrown at it. I just couldn't let it go. I did a U-turn and made that kid pick up the rock and I yelled at him. DO NOT THROW ROCKS AT CARS. It felt good.

2. Get home. Zane is playing in the yard like a good boy. All the sudden I get the urge to check on him. Two middle school neighbor kids are literally tag teaming him and chasing him before then run past the fence and tease him. I stood in the window watching and told Steven what I wanted to yell at them. It had a lot of profanity! I stormed out there with my hands on my big hips and yelled SERIOUSLY is this all you have to do is tease my dog?! Get out of my yard and don't come back. Go play with your skateboard now. They scowled at me and I said move it now!! Again, I was H-O-T.

3. Other than that life is SUPER good and I am blessed. Yep, I said blessed because I am feeling very lucky right now. Patience is a virtue and while I am not good on waiting for OTHERS I am trying now.

Home Sweet Home!!

My daddy is coming home from India for good on April 17th! He just got his plans and is taking his vacation days to knock off the length of his India stay. We're excited. We talked on the phone and I asked him if he missed anything specific. You know me, I would miss food! He actually loves the food and misses Crest Toothpaste! Funny, huh? He said they only use the toothpaste produced in the 70's and I can't remember the name. So, if you're traveling to India don't expect to find normal tooth paste!

However, this chick, a.k.a. Stunner has signed on for another year in Botswana! This picture was taken at her going away party in Atlanta back in September. Looks like it will 2011 before we get another picture together! (unless of course we plan a girls' weekend in Africa-hehe) Thankfully, her hubby is moving to Africa to be with her on this amazing journey!

Flash back Friday

Little Miss Arianna is turning 3 in a few weeks! Can you believe it? Time flies! This picture was taken almost 2 years ago before we headed out to my pool while mommy worked.

Hanging with the munchkins

I know I've been forgotten in blog world! We've been so busy! First, we traveled to Ohio to visit M & R our niece and nephew. We had lots of fun. I spent my days playing dress up (Hannah Montana and a Fashion Designer) coloring fashion designer girls from magazines and turning Polly Pocket's car into the party bus! Steven spent the day playing hide and seek with R and chasing him. On a side note, M made a sign that says "no babys alod" so R can not come into HER playroom. That night we got a babysitter and the adults went to dinner and a movie. Do not see Shutter Island...err do not see Shutter Island at 10:30pm. 1. It's not good and 2. You will take a cat nap. We also go to experience a snow storm and they got a ton very quickly. We had a great time and wish we lived closer so we could see the munchkins more often.

Thursday Thoughts

Needs vs. Wants

This seems to be the topic of much debate both in my personal life and social life. What do we NEED to have and how is it different from what we WANT to have. Simple things like do I NEED to eat Mexican with the girlies...nope I just WANT to. But I do NEED to talk to them daily, hence talking over Mexican. That's an easy problem to solve. However, there are harder struggles going on with me and around me. So, I am taking a step back to analyze what satisfaction I get out of those wants that make me feel I need them. I am feeling very 'needy/wanty' right now. You know I am off the chart when it comes to weird thoughts so I figure half these things are just me being quirky. I will write about the specifics when they are 100% set in stone.
